Storytelling in a pitch: The r4d programme encourages young scientists to reach out to academics as well as non-academics by communicating research insights in an engaging and enjoyable manner.

Explaining an idea in a short and convincing way is the means of film directors or start-ups to find investors. ‘Pitching’ is increasingly used by scientists to communicate complex research to a broader audience.

The r4d programme wants to motivate young scientists to reach out to academics as well as non-academics by communicating their research insights in an engaging and enjoyable manner. It has recently launched a call for three-minute video pitches (PDF), which is open to PhD candidates of r4d projects.

To support you in preparing a video pitch, the r4d programme organises a series of Storytelling webinars. Within a short time you can learn how to create your story and how to deliver it (without using PowerPoint). See also our r4d Skills Storytelling webinars flyer (PDF).
