Evaluation of 81 pre-proposals in module Social Conflicts and Thematically Open Call 1

Two review panels examined and assessed the pre-proposals submitted for the module Social Conflicts and the Thematically Open Call 1.

​The submitted pre-proposals for the module Social Conflicts and the Thematically Open Call 1 were peer-reviewed by external experts and, based on these reviews, carefully evaluated and discussed by two panels, each consisting of eight experts from abroad; the main evaluation criteria were scientific quality and relevance for development.

Social Conflicts: From a total of 22 submitted pre-proposals, seven project teams consisting of Swiss researchers and their research partners from the global south received an invitation to submit a research proposal. The total funding requested in the seven pre-proposals amounts to CHF 21 million, whereas the thematic module has a budget of approximately CHF 14.1 million for six years of research.

Thematically Open Call 1: From a total of 59 submitted pre-proposals, 22 project teams consisting of Swiss researchers and their research partners coming from the global south received an invitation to submit a research proposal. The total funding requested in the 22 pre-proposals amounts to CHF 10 million, whereas the thematically open module has a budget of approximately CHF 5.9 million for three years of research.
