Kick-off meeting of first thematically open research call

Researchers of the eleven selected projects of the thematically open research call 1 and development cooperation representatives met on 27 March 2014 in Berne for the kick-off meeting. One of the aims of the gathering was to bring together the researchers involved in the different projects and to exchange initial experiences. Short presentations of e ach project gave an overview of the different activities in the respective countries in Africa, Asia or Latin America. Another aim of the meeting was to intensify the contacts between the researchers and the development practitioners. The meeting discussed how stakeholders could become more involved in projects and how adequate strategies and measures to implement the research findings could be developed.
