Three new r4d projects in Employment approved
The funding decisions were taken: Three projects of the thematic module "Employment in the context of sustainable development" receive r4d research grants.
The SDC-SNSF research programme for the solution of global problems in poor countries (r4d programme), with a total budget of CHF 96.6 million, issued three calls for proposals last year. The funding decision for the thematic module Employment was taken. It is based on the recommendations of an international review panel, which is responsible for evaluating the projects and supporting the module. In a two-stage procedure and based on peer reviews from researchers and practitioners, the panel evaluated a total of 12 pre-proposals in terms of their scientific quality and relevance for development. Subsequently, 6 project consortia were invited to submit a proposal. The proposals were evaluated according to the same principles and three projects were approved for funding. The Presiding Board of the National Research Council approved the recommendations of the review panel on 5 November 2013.
